A few members have undertaken the almost lost art of building their planes from kits "the old fashion way" this past winter. The photos are teasers, as of course they are currently works in progress. Stay tuned! More pics to come!
Gord's father, Phil Tripe, and Pete Bonell (Brian Bonell's father), built and sold the Lazair ultralight in the late 1970's. After seeing the old photos, he decided to try and build a model of it. Using materials from the Dollar store and some small quadcopter motors, he flew it for the first time last Sunday. It was a success! Not an exact scale replica, but it looks good nonetheless. And flies well, too.
